You can easily spends hundreds of dollars just in the restoration of your main bearings, plus the down time waiting for the machine work to be preformed and then hoping it is done correctly and to the specifications you requested. We now have in stock, babbit main bearings for either your left or right hand main bearings that are undersized and boreable to .040. The process is simple, you phone us or place your order online, we'll ship you a babbit main bearing, without the housing and you simply remove the existing worn babbit bearing from your current housing, install our new bearing and have it machined to fit your crank. Your local machine shop can help you with this process or we'll be happy to machine the bearings to your specifications. Good news is, the price is affordable as well, each main bearing is only $65.00 making a set only $130.00 which is a wonderful cost savings compared to shipping off your existing housings for rebabbitting. The RH main, in particular, is quite expensive since it is a "blind" bearing, it's closed on one side, making it very difficult to pour and machine the babbit. Luckily with our new product, you simply remove the damaged bearings, insert our new bearings and machine them to fit your crank.
